Rally Australia’s organisers have been forced to cancel this year’s event due to the devastating bushfires affecting much of the New South Wales region, close to where many of the stages were due to be held. Citroën Total WRT is fully supportive of this sensible decision.

Wales Rally GB lived up to its reputation as one of the toughest events on the WRC calendar as Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia negotiated the unpredictable Welsh weather and muddy conditions to finish third overall. Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm gathered considerable experience, making it to the end of the rally, after having been forced to re-join under Rally 2 rules.

Runners-up at their home round after a high quality performance in their C3 WRC, Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm consolidated their pedigree as “Flying Finns” by securing a 2nd place finish on home turf. This second podium of the season for the Lappi-Ferm crew, the sixth of their short WRC career, is also the eighth in nine rounds this season for the Citroën Total World Rally Team.

Despite their chances of pushing for the win being compromised by their successive road positions, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia refused to give up. Their determined attitude was rewarded with a third place finish and their sixth podium of the season. This was also Citroën Total World Rally Team’s seventh top-three finish in as many rounds. Equally deserving of a good result, Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm were unfortunately caught out in the closing stages with the finish in sight.

At the WRC’s inaugural outing in Chile, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia continued their impressive series of podiums to finish as runners-up. It was an incredibly intense battle in their C3 WRC, following the improvements made to the car by Citroën Total World Rally Team since Rally Argentina. This result sees them reclaim the championship lead. Increasingly comfortable as the rally progressed, Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm finished sixth overall.

This weekend the sixth round of the World Rally Championship will take place in Chile for the first time, and will be the third round on gravel after Mexico and Argentina.
