Due to unprecedented customer demand, Citroën is pleased to announce that Citroën AMI will launch in the UK during spring 2022. More than 12,000 UK customers have already registered their interest in this exciting new vehicle. With the introduction of AMI, Citroën UK accelerates its quest to deliver affordable and clean mobility solutions that are accessible to all. The all-electric Citroën AMI addresses future urban mobility needs and boasts a zero-emissions range of up to 46 miles. UK versions of AMI will remain left-hand drive – allowing the driver the benefit of exiting the vehicle kerbside when parking at the roadside in city centres. A full UK driving licence will be required to drive Citroën AMI in the UK, as with traditional passenger cars. AMI has already impressed many industry experts, having won prizes in the GQ Car Awards 2021 and the Auto Express New Car Awards 2021. From today (Wednesday 22 September), over 12,000 customers who previously registered their interest on the Citroën.co.uk website will be able to secure their AMI with a £250 refundable reservation fee. Since their European launch at the beginning of 2021, New C4 and ë-C4 - 100% ëlectric have achieved excellent sales success with a total 30,855 registrations in the first half of 2021. New ë-C4 stands out in the compact electric hatchback segment in Europe with the third highest volume of total registrations after just six months on sale. In the UK, over 70% of total orders have been for upper or range-topping ‘Shine’ or ‘Shine Plus’ versions. Top-of-the-range New ë-C4 ‘Shine Plus’ – which benefited most from a price reduction in March to ensure all ë-C4 versions continued to attract the Government Plug-in Car Grant (PICG) – now accounts for over 70% of ë-C4 sales in the UK. In France, during the first half of the year, New C4 achieved the highest total volume of sales to private customers of any C-segment hatchback. Citroën to provide electric vehicle subscription service Onto with a fleet of 300 New ë-C4s in the range-topping ‘Shine Plus’ specification. CITROËN MODEL RANGE COMPLIANCE WITH E10 PETROL Citroën’s range of petrol* and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles built from January 2000 onwards are compatible with E10 petrol. The changes brought in from 1st September 2021 do not affect Citroën’s full range of 100% electric or diesel vehicles. UK Government have stated “the introduction of E10 petrol at UK forecourts could cut transport CO2 emissions by 750,000 tonnes a year – the equivalent of taking 350,000 cars off the road, or all the cars in North Yorkshire.” By 2025 all Citroën passenger cars will be available with an electrified powertrain, with all van models available as 100%-electric by the end of 2021. UK order books open today (Tuesday 31 August) for the new 100%-electric Citroën ë-Berlingo Van, with Basic MRR prices starting from £24,910 (after Government PIVG of £3,000*, excluding VAT). New ë-Berlingo Van is available with two different body lengths and in either Panel Van or Crew Van configuration – the Crew Van can transport cargo and up to five people at the same time. New all-electric Citroën ë-Relay van officially launches in the UK today – Wednesday 25 August 2021 New ë-Relay joins the multi-award winning ë-Dispatch in the Citroën LCV range. New ë-Berlingo Van will launch before the end of this year – meaning all Citroën LCVs will be available with BEV powertrains by the end of 2021. New ë-Relay is available with two battery packs – a 37kWh version, or a larger 70kWh unit with up to 139 miles of range (WLTP). Citroën has updated its multi-award winning Berlingo Van with new technologies and powertrains – available from October 2021 production. Berlingo Van sees the introduction of a BlueHDi 100 Diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox, along with a PureTech 110 S&S petrol engine now available in the ‘Driver Pro’ M version. Citroën UK has secured an order for 60 Relay vans with mobile barber business ‘TRIM-IT’, which recently starred in the hit Channel 4 show ‘The Money Maker’. The contract was managed by leasing specialists ‘Vanaways’ and will see all 60 Citroën Relay ‘Enterprise’ panel vans converted into mobile barber shops. Citroën Relay Enterprise was the van of choice for TRIM-IT due to its blend of space, versatility and standard equipment. Citroën unveils changes to its award-winning Berlingo model, with production from October 2021. Berlingo now fitted with a 10-inch digital driver’s display on most popular ‘Rip Curl’ and ‘Flair XTR’ versions, with PureTech 130 eight-speed automatic versions now featuring the new ‘e-Toggle’ drive selector first seen on New C4. Citroën UK partners with SignLive to offer customers the ability to communicate with its retailer and aftermarket teams using British Sign Language (BSL). Sites in Citroën's circa 190 sales and aftersales network will feature SignLive's video relay service, allowing deaf and hard of hearing customers to connect to a live interpreter in seconds. There are 11 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK, and over 150,000 British Sign Language users – Citroën is aware that English is not the first language for many of its customers. Citroën UK research shows that 40% of UK drivers believe a comfortable driving experience helps to alleviate road rage. 62% of people in the UK claim to have experienced road rage whilst driving. Being cut off on the road was found to be the main cause of road rage, followed by inappropriate overtaking. Energy support services provider, Sureserve Group, has gone electric, with the addition of 30 all-electric Citroën ë-Dispatch vans to its LCV fleet.
