I am pleased to announce new appointments to the Groupe PSA UK press office.

Whilst I am delighted to announce these positions, equally I am sad that some highly respected members of the team are departing.

Craig Morrow has clocked up 40 years with the group and has been known to the media for many years looking after our press fleet. Craig started his career as an apprentice with Peugeot in 1980 at the Stoke factory followed by brief spells at the Whitley and Ryton plants, before moving to the Technical Centre workshop. Finally, Craig moved into PR/Communications running the Peugeot Press fleet, a role that eventually expanded to Press Fleet Manager for all four Groupe PSA automotive brands in the UK.

Key notable moments for Craig in his time with the group have included delivering a car to the late Sir Terry Wogan and being invited in for a ‘cuppa’ and tour of his house as well as driving up and down the artificial ski slope at the Snowdome in Tamworth in Peugeot 2008’s. A gliding event for 3008 launch also stood out for Craig after he was taken up in a glider by Peugeot UK PR Head at the time, Andy Sutton (a qualified instructor), and treated to a series of aerobatics and loop the loops.

Craig leaves us to enjoy more time with his family as well as obtain his HGV Class – C licence, so look out on the road for him in the years to come.

Kevin Jones departs the group after 15 years. His career has largely been centred around Coventry in the automotive industry and predominantly serving the automotive press through Product Public Relations. He started with Jaguar Rover Triumph, which over the years involved Rover, Land Rover, Mini & MG, until the end of MG Rover Group in 2005.

Kevin joined Peugeot in 2005. Over the 12 years that followed, he and his colleagues saw the whole Peugeot model range expand, with memorable UK launches that saw them updated and duly superseded to the extensive range of today. Of the many notable moments key memories include launches at the Snowdome, West Midlands Safari Park and glamping with the 3008, Hybrid4 and 4007 SUV, plus CoTY wins with 308 and Sebastian Loeb in the Pikes Peak Peugeot 208 T16, to name but a few.

In 2017, Kevin turned his PR attention to the emerging DS Automobiles brand as it became solely DS with its second generation range. This period also saw the brand’s impressive success in Formula E and concepts such as the DS X E-TENSE 3-seater Dream Car.

Kevin started in this industry 42 years ago and has been lucky to witness at close quarters some of its key moments. He is now looking at retirement and reflects happily on the many friends made and times enjoyed in the motor industry.

Last but by no means least; Emma Gaffney will be departing later this year. During her time with the group Emma has played a crucial role in the group’s events department and more recently as Media Relations Executive to the Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands in the UK, whilst at the same time completing her apprenticeship with the group.

Emma is highly regarded by the media for her professionalism and abilities to a standard well beyond her years. We will be very sad to see her go and wish her every success for the future.

For those attending the SMMT Test Day on 1st October, both Mike and Kris will be there to say hello whilst both Craig and Kevin will also be attending to bid their farewells.

Craig, Kevin and Emma’s professionalism, enthusiasm and tenacity for getting the job done will be sorely missed and we wish them well with their future endeavours.
