From the 1991 PEUGEOT 905 to the 2021 PEUGEOT 9X8: 30 years of outstanding innovation and performance.

PEUGEOT has revealed details of the new 9X8, its latest-generation Hypercar which is set to make its competitive debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2022. Powered by hybrid technology and featuring all-wheel drive, the new 9X8 Hypercar showcases PEUGEOT’s Neo-Performance strategy which combines technology and sportiness in both PEUGEOT’s road and race cars. The Hypercar is a product of the latest work between PEUGEOT Sport and PEUGEOT Design, heralding a new era in racing and a new era in race car design.

PEUGEOT’s endurance-racing comeback plans continue to take form. After releasing illustrations of its upcoming Hypercar prototype and revealing the characteristics of its LMH powertrain, PEUGEOT Sport is pleased to announce the names of the seven drivers who will defend its colours in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Partners for 25 years, PEUGEOT Sport & TOTAL have released the main technical characteristics of the powertrain of their Hypercar LMH for the FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP (FIA WEC). Their respective teams have pooled their experience and expertise in the fields of hybridisation and world-class motor racing to develop a powertrain (PEUGEOT HYBRID4 500KW) in compliance with the new FIA WEC regulations.

PEUGEOT is celebrating 125 years of motorsport heritage as it marks the anniversary of its victory at the first ever recorded motor race – the epic Paris-Bordeaux-Paris event, which ran between 11-14 June 1895. The landmark anniversary also coincides with the original dates of this year’s postponed 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race – a competition PEUGEOT has won on three occasions. In 2022, PEUGEOT will return to endurance racing and look to write the next chapter of its motorsport story.

The all-new PEUGEOT 208R2, the successor to the best-selling rally car in the history of PEUGEOT SPORT as well as the best-seller in the category – the current PEUGEOT 208 R2 – has turned a wheel for the first time in the Vosges region of France, as it enters the dynamic phase of testing. The all-new PEUGEOT 208R2 is based on the all-new PEUGEOT 208 road car, which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland last month and features a three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbocharged PureTech engine, making it eligible for FIA R2C regulations.
