All-new PEUGEOT Rifter wins ‘Best Utility Vehicle’ award, while the all-new 508, 3008 and 5008 SUVs feature in the magazine’s annual Top 50 rankings All-new Rifter praised for its practicality, versatility and for offering the ‘ultimate family solution’, according to judges To find out more about the award-winning PEUGEOT range, visit: www.peugeot.co.uk/news-cars/

The all-new PEUGEOT Rifter has won the ‘Best Utility Vehicle’ award from Diesel Car & EcoCar Magazine, the UK’s leading magazine for economy motoring, with a further three PEUGEOT models starring in the title’s annual Top 50 rankings of the best and most efficient vehicles.

Judges praised the all-new Rifter for its versatility and practicality, with the vehicle beating a host of rivals to the top spot. Available with both five and seven seats, and with clever features including PEUGEOT ‘Magic Flat’ system which allows drivers to fold down the rear seats with the push of a button, its optimised architecture boasts one of the most capacious offerings on the market : between 775 and 4,000 litres according to version. With the passenger seat folded down objects of up to 3m in length can be fitted into the Long version.

Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel Car & EcoCar Magazine, said: “The Rifter is our favourite multi-purpose vehicle for 2019. This car strives to be the ultimate family solution, and it’s helped in its mission by the option of a short or long wheelbase and the choice of five or seven seats. Unique to the PEUGEOT is the trademark i-Cockpit®, with a compact sports steering wheel which adds extra agility to the driving experience, setting it apart from its rivals.”

A further three PEUGEOT models also starred in the Top 50 rankings. The 3008 SUV was ranked third overall, while the 5008 SUV and the all-new 508 Fastback also ranked in the Top 50 eco-friendly and practical vehicles.

PEUGEOT is committed to reducing its vehicle emissions. All PEUGEOT models already meet the tougher, Euro-6d regulations that will come into force in 2020, and since 2017, PEUGEOT models have met the Real Driving Emissions (RDE) with a compliance factor of 1.5 instead of the current, permitted, 2.1 conformity factor - three years ahead of the regulation deadline.

By 2023, PEUGEOT has promised to have an electrified variant across its entire model line-up, as the brand moves closer to an electric future. PEUGEOT’s first new generation fully electric model, the all-new e-208, will appear in showrooms later this year.

David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK said: “Economy and practicality are two main concerns for many car buyers, so it’s great to see our vehicles do so well in the Diesel Car & EcoCar Top 50 rankings. The all-new PEUGEOT Rifter is one of the most versatile vehicles we make, ideal for families and businesses alike. Being chosen as the Diesel Car & EcoCar Magazine’s ‘Best Utility Vehicle’ is a great result.
