Alain Tranzer, PEUGEOT 208 and 2008 Project Director named as 2013 Project Leader by Automotive New Europe

At Frankfurt on 9 September 2013, Alain Tranzer, PEUGEOT 208 and 2008 Project Director, was presented with the 2013 Eurostar title in the Project Leader category, awarded by the magazine Automotive News Europe.

"In this way, Alain Tranzer, aged 47 and a graduate of France's École Polytechnique, was recognised for his work and that of the project teams for the 208 and 2008, two cars that have contributed to an in-depth renewal of Peugeot’s offering in the strategic B segment. The PEUGEOT 208, launched in April 2012, is produced in France at the Poissy plant in Yvelines, in Slovakia at the Trnava plant and in Brazil, where it was launched in spring 2013, at the Porto Real plant. Production of the PEUGEOT 208 has reached 462,000 units to date. The distinctive GTi and XY versions, launched in spring 2013 are a clear success representing 5% of all 208 orders in Europe.During the development phase of 2008, Alain Tranzer gave the operational responsibility of the project to Brigitte Courtehoux. The PEUGEOT 2008, launched in May 2013, is produced at the Mulhouse plant and will also be produced and sold in China, at Wuhan and in Latin America (at the Porto Real plant in Brazil).Since its launch, PEUGEOT 2008 has enjoyed great success with customers. At the end of August, 45,000 orders had been recorded in Europe. This success has led to the start of a second shift at the Mulhouse plant, allowing production to be progressively increased, reaching 600 units per day from 15 October 2013. The PEUGEOT 2008 confirms the success of the brand’s move up-market with a high level product mix, 71% of orders being for trim levels 3 & 4.
