This new edition of C3 Aircross Rip Curl shoxcases new external aesthetics thanks to the “Anodised Blue” Pack Color and a new “Blue Jeans” interior ambience as well as equipment offering freedom and exploration with complete peace of mind. The SUV is inspired by the blue of the sky and the sea, featuring various shades of blue on the exterior and the interior.

 

“This new C3 Aircross Rip Curl edition is based on the top of the line Shine and Shine Pack (UK) versions chosen by over 60% of our customers. This new 2022 version, set off by dynamic 17-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels, conveys an ocean theme, with an Anodised Blue Colour Pack on the outside and a new uplifting and relaxed Blue Jeans interior ambience, combined with equipment to enhance on-board well-being,” says Pierre Monferrini, Citroën Range Manager.

 

 

ANODISED BLUE TO ENJOY THIS NEW EDITION

The Rip Curl 2022 limited edition adopts shades of blue in reference to the ocean and the world of surfing.  The bumper inserts and the mirror shells highlight the “Anodised Blue” Colour Pack, adding metallic blue touches that catch the eye and contrast with the chosen body colour and black roof. In fact, C3 Aircross Rip Curl’s two-tone black roof will perfectly match the four body colours available: Artense Grey, Platinum Grey, Perla Nera Black or Polar White.

 

Standard on this Rip Curl version are Origami Black 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with shiny black geometric decorations, combined with tinted rear quarter panel windows, adding to the attractiveness of the vehicle and its adventurous and outdoor look. The Rip Curl logo appears in white letters at the bottom of the vehicle’s rear doors.

 

 

A NEW RELAXED INTERIOR AMBIENCE

As a demanding sport, surfing is associated with a simple and stress-free lifestyle, in touch with nature. It represents the art of living each instant, with total freedom. In this spirit, with a new “Blue Jeans” ambience on board, C3 Aircross Rip Curl offers relaxation and friendliness. It highlights the passenger compartment with an interplay of colours and materials applied to the dashboard strip and upholstery.

 

The main “Hello Chinor” upholstery decorating the Advanced Comfort seats (three-quarters of the seats and backrests, including side supports) is a blue-grey sportswear knit fabric often found on technical clothing and sports shoes. It is combined with a leather-effect Sapphire Blue plastic-coated fabric inspired by the world of sport and boating, forming the upper part of the backrests and seat cushions. These cushions are enhanced with a new Bright Blue La Rochelle stitching.

 

Between the padded part of the backrest and its upper part, a heather-effect Tiki Brasilia strip, a black and white Polynesian tribal pattern, has been specially created for the 2022 edition of C3 Aircross Rip Curl. As for the grained Sapphire Blue dashboard strip, interspersed with mother-of-pearl, it gives a metallic effect.

 

No detail has been overlooked: the floor mats feature the Rip Curl signature in embroidered white letters and the on-board documentation pocket is made of a neoprene-type material similar to wetsuits. Its zip matches the blue of the Colour Pack.

 

 

A WELL-EQUIPPED ADVENTURER

C3 Aircross Rip Curl is an adventurer with a sturdy character, evident in its robust silhouette and its high position dominating the road (high ground clearance and large wheels). The front and rear fairings, its geometric-patterned grille, its 360° underbody protections and its wheel arches give it an adventurous look. Its front end bears the current Citroën signature with double chrome chevrons extending to the LED headlamps.

 

On board, comfort is given priority with generous Advanced Comfort seats with unique padding, high-density fabric and 15mm-thick special foam for better postural comfort, allowing you to travel on long journeys in comfort. Well-being is enhanced by technologies that are useful in everyday life, such as the user-friendly 9” touchscreen built into the dashboard, the colour head-up display ensuring drivers have the information they need within their field of vision, keyless entry and start, mobile charging for smartphones and the Connect Box.

 

The SUV has undeniable strengths in terms of modularity, evident in its sliding and folding bench seat, made up of two independent parts, and its fold-away front passenger seat, providing a loading length of 2.40m for transporting particularly long objects, such as surfboards or skis, etc. Its boot volume can be adjusted from 410 to 520 litres and expanded to 1289 litres when the rear bench seat is folded down. Its spaciousness, including its rear legroom and market-leading headroom, is a benchmark in the segment. Another major advantage contributes to occupants’ well-being and the success of C3 Aircross: its large windows, giving the benefit of a passenger compartment bathed in light along with excellent visibility.

 

Comfortable in town and on the road, its capacity for adventure is enhanced by its Grip Control function with Hill Assist. This feature emphasises the SUV character of C3 Aircross and offers a choice of several driving modes and the ability to adjust the traction of the front wheels according to the terrain and maintain speed downhill, including on steep slopes.

This continues a collaboration between Citroën and Rip Curl that began almost six years ago with C4 Cactus and which was built around common values ​​of creativity, innovation and a distinct taste for adventure.

 

Rip Curl first associated its name with C3 Aircross in 2018 and then again in 2020. This is therefore now the third version bringing together Citroën and the Australian brand, a world leader in the field of surfing. C3 Aircross Rip Curl naturally embodies the affinities between the two brands in terms of innovation and technical knowledge to support practicality and sharing. The compact SUV rides the wave of escape and adventures with friends or family, and has all the necessary advantages to enjoy activities and leisure time comfortably and in a friendly and relaxed space.

Citroën C3 Rip Curl will be in the catalogue from July 1st. It will arrive in dealerships as from September and the first deliveries will take place in November.
