VAUXHALL VIVARO-E NAMED VAN OF THE YEAR AT INAUGURAL WHAT CAR? VAN AWARDS

  • Vauxhall dominates inaugural What Car? Van Awards
  • All-new Vivaro-e named Electric Van of the Year and Overall Van of the Year
  • Vivaro-e saw off competition from conventional and electric vans for the Overall title
  • Vauxhall was named winner in the Practicality categories for small and medium vans

Luton – Vauxhall has dominated the inaugural What Car? Van Awards, taking home several category wins, alongside the top prize as the all-new Vivaro-e was being named Overall Van of the Year and Electric Van of the Year.

The zero-emissions Vivaro-e was named Overall Van of the Year and Electric Van of the Year thanks to its impressive 205-mile EV range, vast load capacity of up to 6.6m3 and low running costs. Judges also praised the Vivaro-e for supporting up to 100kW rapid charging as standard, allowing customers to obtain an 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes – making it highly practical and useable for businesses and private users alike.

Steve Huntingford, editor of What Car?, said: “The Vivaro-e does it all: its loadspace is large and practical, it’s relaxing and entertaining to drive and it is capable enough to fit into the work plans of everything from large fleets with set routes or routines to individual users with access to charging.”

“All of us at Vauxhall Motors are honoured that What Car? has awarded our all-electric Vivaro-e as their Van of the Year,” said Stephen Norman, Vauxhall’s Group Managing Director.

“Without doubt, the Vauxhall Vivaro-e is a game changer.  With class-leading range, payload and towing capacity, Vivaro-e is the all-electric van that will carry British business.  The strength of the quantity of orders for our all-electric van already demonstrates that the Vauxhall Vivaro-e, the first step in the electrification of our entire van range, will contribute towards the transition towards low emissions vehicles whilst improving air quality.”

The all-new Vivaro-e is available to order now, with prices starting from £27,028.33 (on-the-road, excluding VAT, but with plug-in van grant applied).

Vauxhall was also successful in the Practicality categories at the awards. The Vauxhall Combo Cargo was named joint winner in the Small Van Practicality category thanks to its impressive payload of more than 1,000kg.

The Vauxhall Vivaro was named joint winner in the Medium Van Practicality category, with What Car?’s judges impressed by the 1,458kg maximum payload capacity, 4m load length and 6.6m3 load volume.
