Mark Adams

Vice President Design

Vice President Design

Mark Adams is Vice President Design and member of the Executive Committee of Opel Automobile GmbH. He has been responsible for the design of Opel/Vauxhall models since 2007.

His tenure began in 2002 as Director of Exterior Design to spearhead the development of a new exterior design philosophy for Opel/Vauxhall which began with the development of the Insignia Concept in 2003 and was continued with the GTC Concept in 2008.

This ultimately led to the first production application of this philosophy with the Insignia in 2008. Mark Adams has led all production and concept vehicles since then, including the Astra GTC, ADAM, 2013 Monza Concept, 2016 GT Concept and the GT X Experimental brand concept. This latest concept embodies the company’s core values and represents the future exterior and interior design direction of Opel/Vauxhall vehicle. The new Opel Mokka is the first production model to embrace this modern design.

In 2012/13, Adams was Executive Director of Design for Global Cadillac and Buick brands while continuing in his role as Vice President of Design for Opel/Vauxhall.

Before joining Opel/Vauxhall Design, Mark Adams served in a series of significant chief designer positions at Ford Motor Company both in Europe and the US.

Adams holds a combination of qualifications, having both a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Design Degree in Automotive Design from the Royal College of Art in London.
