THE DS WORLD PARIS WELCOMES AN UNPRECEDENTED EXHIBITION OF PHOTOS OF YVES SAINT LAURENT

From Tuesday May 11, the DS brand will be welcoming, at the DS WORLD PARIS, an unprecedented exhibition of photos devoted to Yves Saint Laurent. A series of pictures never unveiled before, taken by photographer Pierre Boulat, and then by his daughter Alexandra Boulat, retraces the life and creative work of the renowned designer, from his beginnings at Dior to his final show at the Centre Pompidou. This exhibition immerse the visitor in the history of one of France’s leading fashion houses. To discover until September 10 2015, free entrance.

Since the inauguration of the DS WORLD PARIS in 2013, the DS brand manages to keep the arts alive by welcoming artists and young talent in this precious setting close to the Champs- Élysées. After visiting the world of jewellery with SWAROVSKI in March, the DS WORLD PARIS is welcoming, from June 11 an exhibition of photos featuring the most renowned French designer, Yves Saint Laurent.

The work of Yves Saint Laurent encompasses many emblematic designs, including the three-quarter length coat, evening suit, trench coat and jumpsuit. The designer revolutionised fashion in the XXth century as part of his greatest project: the wardrobe of today's woman.

The exhibition at the DS WORLD PARIS retraces almost 40 years of haute couture design and French know how, from the beginnings of Saint Laurent at Dior, his move to rue Spontini, and then to avenue Marceau, home to the house of Saint Laurent from 1974. This series of 36 photos takes us into the designer's world. We are able to visit the workshops and watch the excitement behind the scenes at the major fashion shows that forged the success and renown of Saint Laurent all over the world. The exhibition shows the designer preparing his shows, adjusting a garment or quietly working on his own. It gives us a fleeting and discreet peek into the life of the most intriguing and mysterious of French fashion designers.
