For the first time in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, India will host a round of the 100% electric single seater category this Saturday for round four of Season 9. Overlooking Lake Hussain Sagar, the Hyderabad circuit will welcome a 22-strong grid of third-generation machines, including the DS E-TENSE FE23 developed by DS Performance, the racing division of DS Automobiles.

Representing the colours of DS PENSKE again is reigning world champion Stoffel Vandoorne alongside the only double champion in Formula E history: Jean-Éric Vergne.

With many lessons learned from the opening three rounds of the new season, DS PENSKE heads into the weekend with fresh motivation to return to the sharp end of the grid and fight for podiums and victory.

As the first premium manufacturer to enter Formula E, DS Automobiles made its mark on the history of the electric racing discipline by winning both the Teams and Drivers’ title on two occasions in 2019 and 2020. The manufacturer has also amassed an impressive number of victories (15) and podiums (44) during its time in Formula E. Today, DS Automobiles stands out as the most successful team in Formula E, with the most points scored since the creation of the championship.

Eugenio Franzetti, Director of DS Performance:

“For the very first time, a Formula E race will take place in India. It’s a real challenge for all the teams as we will be competing on a brand-new circuit for the first time and we will certainly have more things to learn about our GEN3 car. So it’s hard to make any predictions. What’s certain is that DS Performance has worked very hard since the last race with the clear objective of making further progress in our performance.”

Key figures since DS Automobiles entered Formula E:

  • 92 races
  • 4 championship titles
  • 15 victories
  • 44 podiums
  • 21 pole positions
