Just as was the case in India nearly 15 days ago, South Africa will host its very first E-Prix on Saturday. It’s a spectacular race run in Cape Town, against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain.

After Jean-Eric Vergne’s magnificent win at Hyderabad (the first victory for the Gen3 DS E-TENSE FE23 single-seater) DS Automobiles and its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT have the firm goal to continue the excellent progress made since the start of the season in terms of performance.

Determined to be on the podium once more, the DS PENSKE team has therefore invested heavily in another preparation session in order to improve the setup of the DS E-TENSE FE23 cars and fine-tune the race strategy.

But the real ace up the team’s sleeve is its duo of exceptionally talented drivers, with Jean-Eric Vergne – the only double champion in the sport’s history – and reigning world champion Stoffel Vandoorne at the wheel of the DS Performance-developed all-electric single-seaters.

With some long and bumpy corners as well as varied sections of different types of asphalt, the Cape Town circuit will undoubtedly present a huge challenge for the 11 teams entered into Season 9.

As the most experienced and decorated team on the grid, DS Automobiles has at its heart the determination to succeed in this latest mission.

Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance director:

“Winning the Hyderabad E-Prix lifted the morale of the whole team and showed us our huge potential once more. But straight away after that moment of great happiness, we got back down to work in order to improve our performances. Now we’re on the right road; the one that takes us towards our ambitious goals. At Cape Town we’ll be tackling another new track where the talents of our mechanics, engineers, and champion drivers will certainly make the difference.”

Key figures since DS Automobiles entered Formula E:

  • 93 races
  • 4 championship titles
  • 16 victories
  • 45 podiums
  • 21 pole positions
