Today, in anticipation of their official arrival at dealerships, the first three units of the Tonale Edizione Speciale were handed over to expert customers with strong ties to the brand. They will partake in an innovative program where it will be possible to provide their opinions and give important feedback on how the car drives, with a dedicated 24/7 call center being available to them. It is just another example of how the customer’s perspective and product quality are keys for a premium brand like Alfa Romeo.

The delivery took place in the home of the Tonale: the renovated “Giambattista Vico” plant in Pomigliano d’Arco. One of the most technologically advanced factories in the automotive world, its custom-built, state-of-the-art assembly line with unprecedented levels of automation contributed to the vehicle’s superior quality.

Francesco Calcara, Senior Vice President Global Marketing and Communication Alfa Rome, and Raffaele Russo, Alfa Romeo Italian country manager, were at the event.

Francesco Calcara, Senior Vice President Global Marketing and Communication Alfa Romeo:

“We are obsessed with quality, and it has guided us throughout the Tonale project. Primarily, we are concerned with product quality, but that’s not all. Quality is something the customer experiences from the beginning of the purchase process until the last day of ownership. We are confident of the Tonale’s quality, which was achieved thanks to the hard work of the team, suppliers and Pomigliano D’Arco plant. In order to maintain transparent and constant communication, we wanted our first customers to partake in a special program where they can provide feedback on the everyday use of the vehicle.”

The exclusive Tonale Edizione Speciale is available in the Hybrid configuration with a 130 CV, 1.5 4-cylinder engine. It is paired with the new seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission built into a 15 kW and 55 Nm, 48V “P2” electric engine capable of powering the wheels even when the internal combustion engine is off.

The standard equipment comes fully packed and is capable of showing off Alfa Romeo’s sportiness and technology. Plus, it is the first vehicle to sport NFT (Non-Fungible-Token) technology—a brand-new feature in the automotive sector which has debuted on the Tonale.

On the exteriors, there are 20” alloy wheels, red Brembo calipers, Full LED adaptive Matrix headlights and front tinted windows. Additionally, in the interiors, the highest levels of technology and connectivity can be seen in the 10.25” Radio Navi touch with voice control, Car Play / Android Auto and wireless smartphone recharging.

The 130 cv Hybrid Alfa Romeo Edizione Speciale’s equipment is completed with aluminum shift paddles, the Keyless entry system, power lift tailgate with a hands-free system, a sporty leather steering wheel, Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic sign recognition.

The first electrified compact SUV, the Tonale is a symbol of the brand’s “metamorphosis”. While staying loyal to the brand’s Italian sporty DNA, Alfa Romeo is radically changing with the Tonale and has been thrust into a new era of connectivity and electrification. The unmistakably Italian design is extraordinarily faithful to its original concept, and its record-setting technology and connectivity reach new highs with a completely new infotainment system. On the Tonale, Alfa Romeo has designed unique and exclusive technical solutions to bring out the best in its DNA and offer the customer the brand’s signature driving experience, where extreme attention-to-detail meets the never-ending search for the finest quality.
